An exhibition in July offers a new view of Jewish life in Wellington from 1840 to 2017.
The exhibition features stories and images of Jews who contributed to the early growth of our city. The display will also comprise Jewish artefacts and sacred objects used in ceremonies and festivals.
The exhibition will run at the Wellington Jewish Community Centre from Sunday July 9 to Sunday July 16 and will be open from 10am to 6pm, closing at a later time of 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday. The exhibition will close early at 4pm on Friday and will be closed on Saturday.
Early next year the Wellington Jewish Community Centre will be marking its 175th anniversary, from the first orthodox Jewish services held in 1843.
